Actually, they only need to NOT receive an email from the mail server saying that &quot;the address doesn&#039;t exist&quot; to know that it&#039;s valid.

One time, I got these spam emails from some Chinese web-design firm asking if I would like to partner with them. One of the emails said to respond if I didn&#039;t want any more emails. I didn&#039;t listen until finally I had had enough. I emailed them back, asking them to kindly stop (in simple English) and they did.</description>
